Service Innovation - Royal College of Art
Moisture stress and acidity/alkalinity of the soil are factors which can really reduce the ability of the land to perform its functions in a sustainable manner and are related to the land degradation. How can we improve small farmers productivity through information in order to cultivate their lands in smarter ways?
Croptor is a network of farming advisor run by New Holland which helps farmers with low knowledge in terms of soil management and farming practices to better manage their lands through analysis and information.
The farmer advisor analyse the soil throug a moisture sensor and the field with the Croptor drone, after having collected the information he suggests to the local farmer what tools to use, how to use it, what plants to crop in order to have a more efficient farm and give alert on the weather so enhancing the resilience and the productivity of the soil.
